Controles the sex

The combination [xx] gives a female and the combination [xy] gives a male.  On the y gene there are no caracters attached to - it only decides that the sex is male.

On the x gene is a sex-linked colour attached.  The red (tortie) is a mutation of this gene and is in these pages symbolised with xo

[xx] is a normal coloured (not red or tortie) female [xy] is a normal coloured (not red) male
[xox] is a tortie female [xoy] is a red male
[xoxo] is a red female

The red cover up the colour of the cat, and it is not possible to se if the cat is black, chocolate or cinnamon.
The creame is the diluted red, and the creame covers the blue, lilac or fawn.
